Another Way to Not Give Up or Starting Now (Again)
There are 50,400 seconds in each day. So 50,400 moments to choose to say - starting now. And specifically to say starting now AGAIN if you that’s what you require. Whether the goal is to do better, try harder, try smarter, BE better, to stop, to start…
Each day has many moments and who says we have limited attempts? Who says we are failures if we don’t attain it on the first go?
There is argument that it can take more than 21 days to break a bad habit or form a new one, and of course a big influence is the type of goal, so don’t beat yourself up about falling outside of that expectation. In fact, maybe just don’t cling to that expectation at all. Let you pleasantly surprise yourself if it happens.
Sometimes, most times, it ain’t easy starting new things or changing old things.
I like to think that the harder it is, the more resiliency you achieve on the journey there and the more proud you can be when you’ve reached it.
And by all means, start again. And again and again and again if you need to. And sometimes you will need to.
And the biggest most important part; every time you say - starting now - mean it. Mean it even more the millionth time than the first time you said it. You’re building, you’re growing, you’re strengthening, you’re flexing, you’re committing. I kid you not, it’s a form of strength training. Muscle building. Know what it’s worth, feel the burn and lean into it.
Whatever it is for you, if you feel in your gut the importance of it, if it makes you feel peace and calm when you think about achieving it, if it feels deeply intrinsically integral to your very being, then it is.
Do it. If you were waiting for permission to start again as many times as you need to, then you got it - starting now.
