The Kind of Old Lady I Want to Be
My sister, Theresa, had her 40th birthday party yesterday so I flew to Edmonton to meet the fam and some buddies to spend it with her. *I’m currently writing this post in the Calgary airport 😁
It was a pretty epic time.
We dressed up in jungle animal themed clothes, but let’s be real it was 90% leopard print stuff :) We added a colored wig to the mix and hopped a limo to drive us around town for 3 hours. We cruised listening to tunes and singing at the top of our lungs, went to lunch and stopped by the grain elevator for a photo shoot.
While at lunch a classy looking elder lady stopped at our table and asked about the outfits and wigs and said she loved them. We explained it was Theresa’s 40th birthday. This lady went on to say that she was 93 years old (she had her daughter with her who was likely in her 60’s).
We joked with the lady that next year maybe we would invite her to the party. She replied; “Oh, you’ll be sorry. I dance on the tables.” as she proceeds to place her hands on her hips and shake them.
Her 60 something daughter just shook her head and started walking out of the restaurant. I want to be that dang sweet old lady... shaking my hips while my kids shake their heads. I think I’m already on track for that😁
Happy Birthday, Theresa
I Love You
