Things I Think When I Teach
A bit of a ramble but…
When I’m training my head massage practitioners and correcting their techniques I often explain to them that if we are uncomfortable in delivering a technique, say because our posture is compromised, a client will often pick up on it.
There is a signal emitted. I don’t understand it entirely, but it’s happened to me.
I think we are built like that. To feel each other. To care about each other. Maybe it’s where our empathy and compassion grows from.
Looking at it from another angle, thousands of years ago if we had members of our tribe who were uncomfortable in the sense of being unwell that could result in less members within our tribe which could seriously impact survival. So, even from a scientific stand point being able to pick up on these signals of discomfort in each other makes sense to me.
We work with people’s hair and head (and therefore the brain) when we perform this practice - Ayurvedic Head Massage. We are working with the main signal distribution centre which might make it easier to send and receive messages. And then there is my idea about hair and what I believe it’s secret function is… stay tuned…there is a clue in the first Avatar movie if you want to go exploring.
